Does anyone have any experience of running HyperOs in an SBS 2003 environment?
Thanks |

Yes, I've done that once before but had problems due to the way HOS had to remap the drive letters.
However there should be no reliability issues now with HOS 2008 as the drive letters are unchanged. I've not tried it since, but knowing and understanding what wasn't working before and how HOS 2008 has changed I would feel confident in expecting no issues.
If there is one small thing I know of that may cause problems, it's the cloning or restoring of backups.
Because SBS contains a lot of folders in the Program Files directories that begin Microsoft or Windows, when you restore them the short names used may change and may not match some references in the registry. I've only just discovered this myself recently, and I find I have to rename directories out of the way and then back again in the correct order to correct the issue. I think HOS are looking for a fix to come out soon to get over this.
But for normal day to day swapping functions you should have no problem. |
